TJO: Series Finale

A few things.

Thank you gays so much for watching our show! I had such a nice time sharing my geeky not-so-secret obsession with you. I'll continue to update the blog, but if you're like me and have the attention span of gnat I'd follow the Muthafunka twitter.

Thank you to Lauren & Lacey for maintaining fan pages (p.s. I noticed that my Aunt was now a member on Facebook, so good going), that was by far the last thing I'd expected to have happen when I agreed to do an Internet show with Liz over coffee in Silver Lake a year and a half ago. Like... the last thing.

I'm back in Brooklyn for a minute, throwing parties and checking out shows. If you ever want to spend the summer going to free outdoor music events you should come to NY. Trust. If you ARE here, I'm teaming up with getglucky.com and a few of our friends are throwing a beach party at Sweet Revenge in Ft. Greene. Below is the flier, feel free to pull the image to put on your blogs, or twitpic, myspace, facebook, what have you. We'll be there from 10pm on...

Now, onto the music...

First... how about two of the bands we talked about on TJO getting Mercury Prize nominations! If you haven't listened to Bat For Lashes, Florence & The Machine... now is your chance to not be behind. PS... we're also very excited to see La Roux and Friendly Fires on this list. It's a great year for women!

And speaking of great women, how much did you love Holly Miranda?!... I know, I know... I'm not going to say that I've been saying it for years... but I've been saying it for years. I also have an unfair advantage. Here is a video that was recently shot in Brooklyn by Vincent Moon and features our friend Marques Toliver on violin. Look for Holly's debut album, The Magicians Private Library on XL Recordings early 2010.

Fiume Night 10 _ Holly Miranda _ williamsburgh, april 2009 from vincent moon / temporary areas on Vimeo.

I've really been enjoying Marina & The Diamonds for a minute, now that she's signed to Warner expect to see her in liscened for every CW show from here to kingdom come, I can't wait to see which lucky commercial gets hold of I'm Not A Robot first.

The Crown Jewels EP is out now on itunes.

I was back in New York in early spring doing the Homebodies party I discovered this band called The Phenomenal Hand Clap Band and my friend Jules quickly informed me that, "DUDE! That's Patrick's band." I know this kid from back in the day when Hifi first opened, Patrick Wood is an excellent drummer & I am so friggen happy this band is blowing up.

and just to bring it full circle... they're out for a few dates with Friendly Fires. BOO YAH!

Your Summer Song

I submitted this song for my friends TV show a few nights ago, it's on the (500) Days Of Summer OST, then I sent it over to my buddy and she had already downloaded it as per KCRW. May I present your summer song obsession by The Temper Trap:

I totally think they are listening to this song right?

A Bad Case Of The Mondaze

A few things for Monday:

1. I haven't been in BKLYN during the summer in 5 years, and Brooklyn you daytime drink... a lot.

2. There are two Night Of The Living Dyke* parties coming up. This FRIDAY Happy Hour (6-10pm) @ K&M in Williamsburg. Next Friday, July 24th @ Sweet Revenge with a VERY special guest DJ.

*Night of The Living Dyke is a viral party, we don't use any paper or fliers and we take over your favorite bars, we play awesome tunes and you should follow us on Twitter.com/NOTLD for more information.

3. Your favorite online talk show is coming back! Let's start spreading the word bird.

4. Are you listening to Crocodiles yet?

A few things from 30k feet

I made you a mix for Summerchime, it was originally called Hot In The Shitty but I think the file hosting sites flagged it as some sort of unsavory video. I'll let you draw your own image...

Night Of The Living Dyke
is reanimating in BKLYN this summer... stay tuned, and don't make plans for July 17th after work. I need you for happy hour.

I think I should revive my summertime clothes circa 1991, whadda ya think?
